Lynn Stephen, professor of anthropology and codirector of the UO Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies, combines her research and refugees’ stories into a powerful petition for political asylum. Dr. Stephen is a CSWS faculty affiliate and a former associate director of CSWS. On May 6 from 12-1 p.m at the CSWS Northwest Women Writers Symposium, she will premiere her documentary “Sad Happiness: Cinthya’s Transborder Journey” at the Browsing Room, Knight Library. She will also moderate the panel “Crossing Borders: What It Means in the Life of a Child,” with keynote author Reyna Grande, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Browsing Room, Knight Library.
