Dr. Lamia Karim will deliver the keynote address at the 43rd Annual Western Departments of Sociology and Anthropology Undergraduate Research Conference. The conference will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Santa Clara University. This conference is the oldest such conference in the country. The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum in which undergraduates doing original research can share their findings and ideas with students from other colleges and universities. Some students have traveled to Santa Clara from as far away as New York and New Jersey.
An associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Oregon, Dr. Karim is also a former associate director of the UO Center for the Study of Women in Society.
