A Brown Bag Discussion: “Feminist Approaches to Mandatory Reporting of Sexual Violence”

According to UO President Gottfredson’s message dated Dec. 7, 2012, “Oregon law requires that all University employees with credible evidence that any form of prohibited discrimination by or against students, faculty or staff is occurring have a duty to report that information. ‘Prohibited discrimination’ includes discrimination, and discriminatory harassment, including sexual harassment and sexual assault. Reports are to be made to the employee’s supervisor or to the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity.”

Please join CSWS staff and affiliates for a brown bag discussion of the importance of reporting sexual violence from a feminist perspective, as well as to develop strategies for how to report in a way that’s mindful of the needs of survivors.
