June 10, 2016—Long-time CSWS faculty affiliates Lisa Gilman and Courtney Thorsson are among 15 recipients of the 2016-17 Faculty Excellence Award. The Faculty Excellence Award is granted through the UO Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.
The award —“designed to further the university’s commitment to improving its academic quality and reputation by recognizing, supporting and retaining world-class, tenure-related faculty”—is made possible by the support of Lorry Lokey.
Lisa Gilman
Each recipient receives either $20,000 in salary supplements or $25,000 in research funding.
Dr. Gilman, a professor of English (Folklore Program), and Dr. Thorsson, an associate professor of English, are both previous recipients of CSWS Faculty Research Awards.
